Our Herd

Willa
Willa is a full sister to Sage, born two seasons later, and the family resemblance is clear in both fleece and temperament. She is slightly finer than her sister at the same age, which bodes well for longevity of micron. We are pairing her with Merrow this season to explore the grey influence on fawn genetics.

Sage
Sage is our deepest fawn and the heaviest clipper in the females. Her fleece weight compensates well for a slightly broader micron, and her colour is rich and true -- no fading, clean throughout. She has a bold personality and is usually first to the fence at feeding time. Her first cria, a medium fawn female by Aurelius, is currently at foot.

Rime
Rime is our rose grey, and a striking one. The pink-brown undertone in her fleece is unusually clear and consistent -- rose greys can be unpredictable in their expression but Rime has held her colour beautifully. She is fine-boned and elegant, with a quieter temperament than most of our females. Full sister to Merrow on the dam side.

Calla
Calla is our youngest white female and the one we are most excited about long term. Her first fleece was remarkably even for a maiden clip and her conformation is excellent. She carries Ridgeline Magnus on the sire line, like Aurelius, which makes her a natural pairing with Merrow for white cria with grey influence behind them.

Dusk
Dusk is the newest addition to our female group, still in her first full year of production. Her fleece has good density and a warm, earthy fawn tone that we find hard to resist. She shares dam-line ancestry with Briar through Mossbrook Wren, and we are watching closely to see how her clip develops through her second year.

Lumen
Lumen is the finest-fleeced female in the herd. Her micron has held exceptionally well and her crimp definition is sharp and consistent across the entire fleece. She is smaller in frame than Briar but produces a proportionally impressive clip. Bred entirely within the Ridgeline line, she is a useful outcross option with Merrow.
